Short messages of spiritual support for adult survivors of child sexual abuse

Feb. 2025 Week 4: “What does God say about me?”

As people who want to be like Jesus, our self-esteem can only be based on what God says about us. Our awareness of worth has to stem from God’s awareness of our worth.

And God says, based on truths found in Scripture, that we are precious. We are treasured. We are unique, irreplaceable, special. We are known to the Divine, we were made by the Creator of heaven and earth. We are being forgiven, restored, made whole. (If you’re wondering what Bible verses all this is based on, please email me: mary.brown@silencebrokennow.org.)

Other people may say other things about us. We may even put ourselves down; it’s hard sometimes to remember (and sometimes hard to believe) just how much God really cares for each of us as individuals. Not because we’re useful, not because we’re perfect, not because we never make mistakes. Just because we are the Lord’s creation. God made us, so God loves us. Simple as that.
