God offers us freedom, through truth, to grow, heal, choose, and become whole. It is freedom from the control of evil, freedom from the power of sin, freedom from our destiny being determined by other people’s choices. Now we can be free to make our own choices.

We can be free, gradually, to see the world as it is—all the beauty, and all the ugliness—because we are protected by God’s loving power. We can even be free to see the damage that was done to us and also to see God’s constant, steadfast work to bring us into healing and wholeness.

This freedom comes as a result of our daily decisions to choose to walk in love with God. It is ours and no one can take it from us. Even when we make a mistake (and we all do), our next decision can be to turn back to God. Repeatedly, gladly, freely.
