Short messages of spiritual support for adult survivors of child sexual abuse

December 2025, Giving to God #2

GIVING TIME

We might look around at others who are able to give more than we can—more money, more skill, more time volunteering—and feel like we don’t have much to offer God. But you can give God your time and your attention.

Even though we don’t always feel special, please know that you’re irreplaceable. Unique. There is no one else exactly like you, anywhere. So when you offer your time and attention, you’re giving a gift that no one else can.

Will you consider taking a few minutes out of your day, every day, to give to the Lord? It could be as short as five minutes, but it’s something that you can offer. Even if you aren’t feeling happy, or strong, or hopeful, you can say “Okay, God, here I am. I just want to say hello and spend a little time with you.” Maybe pick up your Bible and think about a verse of Scripture, or meditate on the words to a favorite song. Just share that time with your Creator. Try to do it every day even if it seems weird at first.

Give that gift to God, and let me know what happens? You can always email me: Mary.Brown@SilenceBrokenNow.org.
