Deep down, I think, everyone needs and wants to give love. But it’s tricky because life is complicated. Sometimes it’s helpful to step back and concentrate on God’s love for us: learning about it, receiving it, believing it.

Why does God love us? Certainly not because we’re perfect. Not because we do everything right, not because we work super-hard to be nice. No, God loves us simply because we are God’s creation. Nothing can change that fact, so nothing will change Divine love for us. We can’t stop it or increase it.

And the most important part of that love is having a close connection with our Creator. People often get in the way of the blessings that God desires for us; they do evil or stupid things that hurt us or hold us back. But nothing can stop us from gradually developing this amazing relationship with our Lord.

Let’s pray to learn more, believe more, accept more of God’s love for us. Let’s read about God’s love in the Bible, and remind ourselves about God’s love when hard times come. It takes time but we will grow to know God like Jesus did. What could be better than that?
