To have courage doesn’t mean that you aren’t afraid. I think it means that you choose to do the right thing, you choose to stay on the high road, even though you have good reason to be afraid.

As survivors, we know about fear. We know about pushing through difficult situations, about getting up day after day even though we have no hope. My friend, that’s courage.

You may not think that you’re strong and gutsy, but you are because you’re still here. You’ve decided to keep trying; you’ve decided not to quit on life. And that takes courage. (Please know that sometimes we do have to quit on situations that are not healthy for us; that takes courage too, and wisdom, which we’ll look at in another blog.)

But remember that you are brave, and resilient, and resourceful. Notice I didn’t say “perfect”! We don’t have to get it right all the time. Life is hard and messy. But you haven’t given up. Thank you.
